I am well and enjoying the wonderful summer weather. Yesterday I saw the very entertaining play called Curtains at the Music Center, downtown .Los Angeles.
Do you like to go to Theatre, movies,concerts? During the week I saw the movie The Illusionist, which I also enjoyed. This morning I attended a rehearsal at the Hollywood Bowl.
Are you able to find time away from your studies for relaxation and entertainment?

Dear Ariel,
Thank you for your very thoughtful Thanksgiving message. I was in San Francisco for the holiday visiting with my Grandson (who cooked dinner on Thanksgiving} Also visited the wine country in Napa and Sonoma areas.
Hope you are well and not too stressed with upcoming finals. What are your plans for the winter break? Will you have some free time to come and have lunch with me?

Dear Ariel,
Thank you for the beautiful holiday greeting card and your good wishes. Was it difficult for you to leave home once again. Are your parents proud of your proficiency in English language?
I was back on USC campus on Tuesday when my group met with first year Medical students. Do any of your teachers have you meet with older adults? Both the Medical students and our group always find this an interesting exchange of ideas about what our expectations from the Medical profession.
It seems to me that I have been doing a great deal of extra eating during December. I make many traditional foods when I have the family to dinner to celebrate Chanukah. Then my daughter makes many of her husband's family tradional foods when we celebrate Christmas at their home.
How will you celebrate the Chinese New Year? Is it possible for you to come for lunch some weekend? I live about 6 miles from USC near the Los Angeles County Art Museum. Have you been there? They have an extensive collection of Asian art.

謝謝妳所寄來的美麗聖誕卡以及祝福話語。 不知道再次離開家鄉對妳來說是不是很難熬？不知道妳的父母有沒有為妳的良好的英文能力感到驕傲？
我週二剛回到USC校園,和我的志工夥伴們一起與一群一年級的醫學生會晤。不知道妳的教授們有沒有也讓你們和年長者會晤呢？我的志工團體和這些醫學生們，總覺得這樣的會晤面談，對於我們彼此對醫療行業的期待，是一種非常有趣而有意義的意見交流。
在12月裡，我似乎吃了許多大餐，當我的家人到來一同團圓慶祝猶太教光明節時，我做了許多傳統的食物作為我們的團圓飯。而當我們一起到我的女婿家慶祝聖誕節時，我的女兒也為他們的家人做了許多傳統食物來慶祝。
妳有沒有打算怎麼慶祝中國年呢？不知道妳有沒有可能在哪個週末到我家來一起用個午餐？我住的地方距離USC大約6英哩左右，在洛杉磯縣美術館附近。妳有到過那裡參觀嗎？他們有龐大的亞洲藝術品收藏。

I want to thank you for the delicious fruit filled pastries. I had one last night and am looking forward to another tonite. I am saving the wrappings as they are so decorative I hope to use them for an art project. It was most kind and gracious of you to send a gift to me.
I enjoy talking with your daughter Ariel, She is charming and courageous to come to the U S to study. She tells me that you and your husband have encouraged her and how supportive you both are. I am sure you are very proud of her.
